In conjunction with the release of his new album, “Break the Silence,” Jon will perform on release day, July 22, at the Borders store at 32nd and 2nd in New York City. The performance begins at 7:00 p.m. That same day, Jon will also perform for Choice Music, which is a service providing music to cable TV and business. The next day, July 23, Jon will perform for the The New York Post and also at the F.Y.E. in Smith Haven Mall in Lake Grove, New York. The performance at Smith Haven Mall begins at 6:00 p.m. Jon will jet back West for a performance on July 29 at 6 p.m. at the F.Y.E. on S. Redwood Rd. in Salt Lake City. 6/18/08: Sweetwater Theater Show, Special Acoustic Fundraiser CD, and Radio Studio Visit in Fort Wayne
Jon will visit Fort Wayne, Indiana on June 23. He will perform an acoustic show at 2:00 p.m. in the state of the art Sweetwater Performance Theater. The show is free for the first 250 people, plus 25 people at the show will win a free copy of Jon’s new CD, “Break the Silence.” Jon will sign autographs and talk to fans afterward. Jon will also record a special song for volume 3 of the Majic Miracle Music CD, which is a fundraiser for Riley Hospital for Children. Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 of this CD series included such stars as Daughtry, Sarah Bareilles, Ryan Cabrarera, and Five For Fighting. The volume Jon will be on should be released this November. Also on June 23, Jon will appear on Majic 95.1 WAJI’s “Majic in the Morning” show at about 7:15 a.m.

6/3/08: Jon sings with “Idols in Concert” shows in San Francisco
From July 1 through July 5 and again from July 8 through July 12, Jon will sing in the “Idols in Concert” shows at the Rrazz Room in Hotel Nikko in San Francisco. These shows will feature Jon performing solo, duet, and ensemble numbers with various other top-ten AI finalists. American Idol’s own musical director, Michael Orland, is also the musical director for these shows. Advance tickets are at a discount rate. Doors at 6:30 and shows at 8:00 p.m.

5/19/08: Jon on WPST in Trenton/Philadelphia, May 20
Jon will be interviewed on WPST on Tuesday morning, May 20. He will also be featured on the station’s “Now Hear This” promo. “Break the Silence” is on the station’s On Demand Media Center. That player will also carry the stream of the interview.

“There are a couple really brilliant things about American Idol (please note the sarcasm). The first thing is that they really don’t give these kids a chance to hone in and perfect a sound because one week you can be singing country and the next week show tunes. BLAH!!! It is also nothing more than a popularity contest. Fantasia won the year that Jon Peter Lewis was on the show, but is that a bad thing? Fantasia has done all of nothing and Jon Peter Lewis just released what will no doubt be one of the most talked about albums of 2008 with ‘Break The Silence.’ Point, check, and match to Jon Peter Lewis. What a great album. Right from the get go you find yourself tapping along with the adult alternative rock stylings (think Five For Fighting) that Lewis brings to the table. This trend in the music, although pretty prominent throughout the album is not where Lewis shines the most. Rather, it’s when he decides to tone the music down a bit and let his voice take care of carrying the pop driven songs like ‘Beautiful,’ ‘Everybody Falls,’ and ‘If You Don’t Mean It,’ where you will be wondering just why it was you didn’t vote for this guy when you had the chance. Working with producer Chris Garcia (Santana) proved to be a good backbone to the album as Lewis shows a Santana type flare on the opening guitar riff on “Bridges.” This is one of the more complete albums I have heard from the Idol pack of runner ups and is sure to hit with folks across the board. 1/8/08: ‘American Idol’ Season Three Finalist Jon Peter Lewis Recording New Album
LOS ANGELES, Jan. 8 /PRNewswire/ — Jon Peter Lewis, the first singer to bring rock ‘n’ soul to “American Idol,” will release his second album this spring.

Chris Garcia, who has worked with Santana and Michelle Branch, Dido and Jewel, is producing the album under the guidance of executive producer Don Grierson, a former head of A&R for Capitol and Epic Records involved with Bob Seger, Heart, Duran Duran, Cheap Trick, Celine Dion and Tina Turner.

JPL, as he was known on “Idol,” is writing or co-writing several tracks for the album, which will feature such esteemed session musicians as guitarist Nick Lashley (Alanis Morissette) and drummer Kenny Aronoff (John Cougar, Indigo Girls).

The as-yet-untitled album is the follow-up to Stories From Hollywood, a limited release distributed through independent roots rock label Authentic Records, which featured the infectious singles “Boy Next Door,” “If I Go Away” and “Turn to Grey.”
